Joy's Reversible Purse for AG Dolls

I gave Joy (7) an Altoids tin and told her she could make something with it. This was whst she came up with all on her own. First she beaded the handle, then I used my crop-a-file to punch holes for it. Then she covered both sides with scrapbooking stickers, flowers and butterflies on one side and geometric shapes on the other. Didn't she do a great job?

Drawer Pull / Knob Redo with Cricut Vinyl

Before:

After:

Aren't they sweet? I wanted to get some newer, funner (yes, I just used the word "funner") knobs for my crafty room and saw someone (it was awhile ago and, my apologies, but I couldn't find the exact post I had seen) use vinyl to so easily dress up these little babies. I used the flower from Storybook and did it in chocolate brown so it would match this:

over my window and this:

In my entry way. :)

You're Too Cool!

I am excited about this fun little card I made to submit to this week's challenge at the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog. This week they provided a sketch for inspiration. I let my daughter choose the critter and she picked out the penguin from Create A Critter. The white squares are a sparkly white glitter paper that doesn't show up well in the pictures. I embossed the turquoise squares with snowflakes. The little stamped sentiment is raised a bit to let the card stand on its own. Have a beautiful Palm Sunday tomorrow!

Journaling Challenge

Since Lasting Memories is having a journaling challenge this week, I thought I would showcase my favorite little journaling box stamp by Teresa Collins on a layout I did a couple of days ago. I live to journal, but sometimes I get lazy about it. The best way for me to do it is right away, then I can include all of the little details I would forget so quickly otherwise. I think that's one of my favorite parts about the December Daily albums I've done over the last three years.

"Simple Pleasures" Easter Layout

I designed this layout with the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 in mind. I am also entering it in a couple more challenges I just found: The Paper Cutz Challenge and the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!  Seems Spring is on everyone's brain!!  I used the eggs and chick off the A Child's Year cart and the sentiment from Country Life. I embossed and inked the eggs to "decorate" them. I can't wait to add photos from our Easter Season this year. Have a lovely day!

Another Gift Idea

I needed a gift for my grandmother, so I made up this set of greeting cards for her.  I used all sorts of items in my stash a variety of stamps (digital and regular) and left some of the "list" stamps from The Cutting Cafe "unchecked" so my grandma could personalize them as she finds occasion to use them.  I think the ribbons and buttons and other embellishements make them special.  Doodling was fun, too.

Easy Kids Craft

This was really easy and fun. I used DS to weld my word together (pray in this case because it went along my lesson, but the possibilities are endless). I cut the words out of contact paper and put one each on cardstock (I think construction paper might tear). The kids then colored all over the paper. They were so creative and they all looked very different. Next, the kids peeled off the contact paper. The effect was very cool...I almost hated to add glitter, but the kids are all about glitter! We outlined the word with glue and they shook the glitter on. I have elementary kids and I was thrilled to hear even the boys (who are sometimes too cool for crafts) oohing and aahhing over their creations.

My leftover vinyl stickers went to the nursery because I thought the toddlers would enjoy coloring even if the workers chose not to use the glitter.

I used ACY for the card base and leftover butterflies from another project from Once Upon a Princess and lots of little stick-on rhinestones. The stamp says, "Love puts joy in the heart".
