Japanese Flower Girl Card & Gift Box

I embellished her flower and the sentiment tag with pearls. Her robe is embellished with birds and swirls, and the sentiment is embossed. I put the girl on Action Wobbles.




One tip I thought of today: I cut the tiniest notch in the card where I wanted to spread it out.

There are pretty Japanese lanterns not the hexagon box from Life's A Party.




Made this darling card and box set for the Let's Face it Friday - Designer's Choice!  and the challenge at My Creative Time to use green and yellow and an "older" cart (I used A Child's Year for the terrific card base that just lends itself perfectly to wrapping with Baker's Twine.) I got this sweet little girl svg file fromMy Scrap Chick. So happy with how she turned out. I love her sweet little face so much.

Would be great to put a little gift of tea in or a gift card to a Japanese Steak House! Yum!

Candy Box Thank Yous

I got Sure Cuts A Lot on Mother's Day and have been so excited to use it. I've been admiring cutting files from The Cutting Cafe for awhile. This is the candy box from them along with these great printable digital stamps (the b&w ones) that fit my tag punch from Stampin' Up perfectly. So cute! Cant wait to give these to people I want to thank on Sunday! My candies must have been smaller because 14 fit instead of 12 and the candy wrappers that came with the file were too big, but I am still so pleased with the results! Have a fab weekend!

Music Folder for an American Girl Doll

So I was playing with Sure Cuts A Lot today and cut out this sweet little teabag holder. My daughter came in and realized it wad a perfect music folder for her dolls. She set to work and cut up a bit of scrapbook paper into music sheets. Perfect!

Bike Helmet Makeover

(I know it's on backwards in this pic!)


We were given this functional (but very plain) helmet that had red lettering on the side. I told Joy we could "cricut it up"! We covered the red lettering with pieces of white vinyl then cut flowers and leaves (Accent Essentials), jewels (Happily Ever After) and "Joy" (Winter Woodland). She stuck the pieces on and us so proud of it, I think I will have no trouble in getting her to wear it now!

Dining Room Art

I was so inspired by this great project from Spunky Junky several weeks ago that I started a set of fabulous framed pieces for my own dining room. This was a project with a lot of steps, but the end result was worth it!






I went to Walmart and bought some cheap frames to use (I've had the pretty oval one in my stash for years). I also purchased the large utensils there for $1.50 each and a cam of White Appliance Epoxy and a brown, hammered-finish look spray paint. Stopped at The Dollar Tree on my way home and bought the rest of the silverware (2 pieces for $1).

I laid out everything how I wanted it and snapped pics so I would have them for reference:



I took the next few days to spray everything with several coats. I used chipboard where needed to insert into the frames.

Finally. I hot glued the flatware on! Hope you enjoy.

An Envelope Tip & Baseball Bday Card

This is a card made with Life's A Party. I love all the quick-cutting shaped cards on there! I wanted to share my solution for times when you want to give money or a gift card but don't want to make a great big envelope for the card (card is 5 1/4"). I used an envelope off of Beyond Birthdays cut at 4" and glued it in there so now the birthday boy's gift will not fall out or get lost. :)

Monogrammed blanket

I started this blanket quite awhile ago for a friend and had "issues" getting it to embroider. I had a couple spots that just wouldn't stitch. So this weekend, I stitched the roses over the spots that were empty and I'm pleased with the result. The blanket is so
Luxe and soft...I gave it as a birthday present.
