Here is my quilt block for August :)  So much detail on this one.  Between starting school (homeschooling high school) and end-of-summer vacations, I'm thankful I managed to get it done!  Love how it turned out.  This fun quilt a long can be found at Sew Incredibly Crazy.

Lunchtime Bear Fishing Quilt Block

I made this for a quilt along I discovered a few months ago.  I had a chance to sew this weekend and I'm nearly caught up!  (It began in February.)  You can find the patterns on Sew Incredibly Crazy.  So far, the blocks are super cute!  They have an outdoorsy theme and plenty of cute woodland animals so far.  I have never appliqued like this before and I'm really enjoying it.  Thanks, mom, for the light pad....it helps a ton!

Stuck on You Card

Happy Friday!! This was inspired by the Paper Craft Crew Challenge Sketch #246.  My daughter is really into cactuses right now.  (BTW, we looked up the correct plural - just so we would know....and found either "cactuses" or "cacti" is correct...couldn't help ourselves!)  I was happy to use these great Close To My Heart Stamps along with the Thin Cuts (coordinating) and copics to color the flower.  The sketch was great because I feel like I get into a rut with card designs after awhile. :)

Hi! A Pop-up Card to Thank a Friend

Hi!  I've neglected my blog for a long time because even though I've been busily creating all this time, my iphone app I was using with Blogspot stopped working for me and I got frustrated and gave it up (if anyone has an app to recommend, I'd love to know about it).

Anyway....wanted to share this happy friendship card in the challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  Their theme is "Friends Forever".  Love it :)  I used the Artfully Sent cartridge from Close to My Heart.  The pop-up cards are so much fun and my friends and family always love them.  I used purple because it is a dear friend's favorite color.

 Matching envelopes are a sweet finishing touch.

 The front is cute, but this card is all about the inside!

 Gotta have glitter!  Here, I used stickles to accent the middles of the flowers.

Beautiful Bangle Bracelets

Hi Everyone,
My crafty daughter, Joy, has been making and selling these fun bracelets and I wanted to post a few pics for people to see as samples of what she does. They are so much fun to mix and match with different outfits. She will also be happy to do custom orders: team or school colors, etc. Prices are $12 each or 3 for $30 for all the ones on the three-tiered stand (except the Orange Florida bracelets--they're $15). The single-tier stand (last three photos) bracelets are $15 each, but feel free to add them in to a 3 pack and just tack on the $3. (For example, two $12 bracelets plus one $15 would be $33 total.). Thank You Flower Card with CTMH August Stamp of the Month

I inked an embossing folder and ran it through for the background.  Then stamped the sentiment and frame with the Close To My Heart stamp of the month set for August.  I love how the frames and sentiments are interchangeable and you get multiple colors involved.  The flower is from the stamp set, "A Budding Friendship". 

Chic Baby Blanket, Pink and Zebra

Made this for a dear friend and it is soooo "her"!  Can't wait to give it to her.  I wanted to share since I love the way the embossed backdrop (Shield 7 from Embroidery Library) really lets the text be read so easily even on this crazy plush fabric.  Takes about an extra 30 minutes of embroidery time, but so worth it, I think.  :)

"Love" Card

A simple card.  Masculine yet romantic, I think.  The hexagons are very trendy.  This "Love" stamp comes with the new Artistry cartridge from Close to My Heart.  I popped up the sentiment with a little bit of foam.

 

Mason Jar with Flowers Card

This sweet mason jar with flowers was just too cute.  I cut the white shape from one of the layers from the Artistry cartridge as well as the image.  Stickles and Glossy Accents give it a finishing touch.  The bow is also from Close to My Heart.

"We're the Perfect Blend" Card

This great cut is from Artistry.  I added some glossy accents on the hearts.  The awesome sentiment is from a great coffee-themed set from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I used a Martha Steward Border Punch for the lacy border.

"Love" Card with Artistry

This layer function is so much fun on the Artistry cartridge.  I love the borders, too.  Purple and green is a favorite color combo of mine and I added some stickles to the word "Love" to make it pop!  This would be great for a wedding, a bridal shower, or for a sweetheart.

"Oh, snap!" Crabby Card with Artistry

Made this crab card with Artistry.  The sequins are also from CTMH.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.  I think this little crab is on the beach at night with some sparkling starfish.  Could be cute for a birthday or a number of other occasions.  Hope you have an awesome day today and celebrate Labor Day with people you love!

A Simple Card for a New Neighbor

Made this card to go with a gift for a new neighbor.  I embroidered a couple of towels and another neighbor will add some baked goods.  Quick, simple, sweet. :)

Projects from Close to My Heart's New Artistry Cartridge

I've made several cards with the new "Artistry" cartridge from CTMH.  Here is the first.  Love this yummy donut and the sentiment, "Life is Sweet".  I embossed the background with an inked embossing folder. Stay tuned for more cards and projects to come this week. :)

Paper Bird & Seaside Greetings

Made these cards with our new close to my heart stamps and some old scrapbook paper. The sentiments on these two cards were from Sweet n sassy stamps.

Sunbonnet Sue Catching Butterflies

 This was made for my mother in law, who loves butterflies and Sunbonnet Sue, too.  I was thrilled to find this great design at Embroidery Library that combines both.

I just love these chalkboard designs from Embroidery Library.  I made them for my grandma.  So bright and happy!

Mason Jar Placemats

 I made these for my mom for Mother's Day.  It was actually pretty difficult to find some nice blank placemats that weren't too thick to embroider.  Finally found these at Target and I do like the color.  The designs from Embroidery Library were so sweet and just reminded me of my mom.

Joy's Creative Cards with new CTMH stamps

 

 

All of the cards in today's post are made by my daughter, Joy.  I love crafting with her!

I was very excited when my daughter (11) decided she loves to stamp!!  She used some new stamps (and some of my sister's new stamps- thanks Regina) and got creative.  Pinspired by pinterest, naturally.  I like her penstitching, too.  She thought her grandma Joan would appreciate the above card since she is an artist. :)  It was made with "Brushstrokes" and "Happy to be Friends".

 

We both love this adorable birthday cake made with the Brushstrokes stamp set from CTMH.  Stickles on the flames:

I love this idea she had to use an old, butterfly earring as an embellishment for this card.  The beautiful border is from Creative Memories Border Maker System.  The sentiment was from the CTMH "You Mean the World to Me" set.

We are both in love with this "Typed Note" stamp set.  So quick to make a variety of cute cards for tons of occasions:

This is my sister's new set, which she let us use before she even saw it. :)  Also, again "Brushstrokes".  I am so proud of my talented daughter!

Father's Day Cake, Cards, & More

My husband is incredible.  He really is the hardest worker around.  He works in construction and has worn these type of work boots for as long as I've known him.  When I saw this cake online about a month before Father's Day, I knew it was perfect.  Joy, my 11 year old daughter, was totally on board.  She would not let me drop it even after it turned out to be such a crazy week. :)  I'm so glad she insisted!

 This was by far one of the most ambitious surprise projects my daughter and I have attempted.  We collected ingredients throughout the week, going to many different stores (i.e. a gas station for a candy necklace).  We were soooo impressed with the results!

I made this card (tent fold) to go with the cake:

 

 

It was much easier than it looks (though it was definitely a few hours of enlarging patterns and decorating).  The authors of this book have wonderful directions.  It's a great deal with the many, many cakes included.  I certainly hope to make several more.  We followed the instructions in this awesome book, which you can find HERE :
