Zebra Shaped Birthday Card

I made this fun, girly little card for a one-year-old's birthday. It actually turned out the way I envisioned it! I used Design Studio and welded two shadows. I put a third shadow on top and then did the layering all at 4.5".

Life is our Classroom Layout

I made this whimsical layout for the My Creative Classroom challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2. You needed to use the word "classroom" in your project. I was inspired to use the word "classroom" because we homeschool, and even though we definitely have "school time" each day, we all know that we are all constantly learning new things with each new experience.

I used Design Studio to cut out the title with Lyrical Letters--one of my favorite font cartridges. So many great fonts on that cart!

The supplies (and part of the LO idea) were from a kit from My Personal Scrapper. Love the colors and patterns.

This big scalloped circle was something new I tried with Design Studio. I made the scalloped circle huge and slid it way over on the mat (on the computer screen) and cut it out.

I used the negative image so I still have this great design element for another layout out of that great lettered pattern:

I added rhinestones and awesome dimensional flower stickers.

The great thing about machine stitching is that it doesn't have to be perfect and it still looks good.

Easy Kids Craft

This was really easy and fun. I used DS to weld my word together (pray in this case because it went along my lesson, but the possibilities are endless). I cut the words out of contact paper and put one each on cardstock (I think construction paper might tear). The kids then colored all over the paper. They were so creative and they all looked very different. Next, the kids peeled off the contact paper. The effect was very cool...I almost hated to add glitter, but the kids are all about glitter! We outlined the word with glue and they shook the glitter on. I have elementary kids and I was thrilled to hear even the boys (who are sometimes too cool for crafts) oohing and aahhing over their creations.

My leftover vinyl stickers went to the nursery because I thought the toddlers would enjoy coloring even if the workers chose not to use the glitter.

Expression decorated with Vinyl

This was such an easy project and with almost-instant gratification, too!  (I saw the idea on the Cricut Messageboards several months ago with some beautiful butterflies.)  I used Design Studio to weld my name (Opposites Attract) and the images (Serenade).  Sooo much easier to apply!  I took it to a crop the next morning.  I just have to have it with me now every time I crop.  :)

My First Design Studio Project

This is my first try at using Design Studio.  I've learned a ton since then (2 days ago!) and I have another project in the works I will be very excited to share with you all when I get it done.  Bitten by the Bug 2 has a challenge using an apron from From My Kitchen.  I love that cartridge and am thrilled for a chance to play with it.  I used my Scrappy Moms Stamp for the sentiment and MS glitter on the "lace" of the apron.  I am excited to be able to make shaped cards now!
