Yummy Chocolate Cake Gift Box

This was so fun to make for the challenge at Fantabulous Cricut, which was to make a project with a cupcake (or other baked good) on it. I love chocolate and saw how a friend of mine had used gathered ribbon on a cupcake project and loved it. I sewed a basting stitch down the center of a length of ribbon, gathered it, and hot glued it on, tucking the ends under. I painted a wood ball red and stickled it after it dried. Wasn't sure about a stem, but I think it looks yummy without it. The box is off of Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. It opens in the back and I used just one mini glue dot to hold it closed.


It cut at 9", and it's a pretty good size for a small gift. Have a fab weekend my friends!

Baseball Layouts

Here is my newest baseball layout I made for the Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge this week. I don't have all my pictures printed yet so I am waiting to add those. It feels so great to complete a premade layout, though, just waiting for me. The cuts are from Life's A Party:

Campin' Critters Sign for a Camper

I've been wanting to start decorating my camper a little as my family is loving the opportunities we get to get away from it all. I received Campin' Critters in the mail last week and when I saw the tag challenge (p. 89 of Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More) at MAG Challenge by the Page, I knew what I wanted to make:





I cut it on Fit to Page and it cut at 11 1/2". I didn't have any dark gray cardstock for the porcupine so I improvised and chalked the light gray cardstock, which gives it a really soft look. Wiggle eyes and a little pink pearl nose make him look even sweeter.

Happy Birthday to Me!

My sweet, creative little girl made me a present last week and has patiently waited until today to give it to me. I knew she was using tp tubes, but that was it! She made me a functional treasure chest that ties closed.

Bubble Gum Hello

Isn't this a fun, shaped card from the Cutting Cafe? It comes with tons of great digital stamps, too. I had a great time choosing buttons to make it colorful and dimensional. I also embossed the "metal plates" with the cuttlebug.

Once Upon a Princess Rainbow-Shaped Card

8/15/11 Correction: So, last night, my daughter pointed out to me that this rainbow is actually on the Once Upon a Princess cart, not Paisley!  :)


I just love rainbows and so I really enjoyed joining in on the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge this week to make a shaped card. I love using Design Studio to do this with the "flip" and "weld" features. The first time I forgot to "hide" the cuts so I'd be able to stamp my PKS faces and I made it anyway, and it's really cute,




but I just think the PKS take it to a whole new level of cuteness! Do you agree?

If Friends...Card

I found this fun challenge at M A G Challenge by the Page. It's also perfect for the friendship challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut. For the M.A.G. Challenge, you can only use the specific cartridge and page, but I love the inspiration. This week was a challenge from Plantin Schoolbook. Here's my card:











I immediately thought of this sentiment and of using my button stash. I used wire cutters to cut off the shanks where necessary. Even the the cute little bee was in my button stash. I don't like to use buttons too much in my scrapbooking cause they're so bulky, but they're perfect for cards!
