Flip Flops Mini Album

This is a gatefold-style mini album I made using the instructions on http://www.scrapbook-crazy.com/ Scrapbook Crazy. Surprisingly, it was not too hard. There are accordion-folded spines on each side that hold 6 flaps that fold together (like a gate) when the album is closed. When it is closed, you see the flips and each one opens to each side when it is open. I am surprised I finished it in time to submit it to the challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot. I used a new Cindy Loo companion embossing folder on the Flip flops and lots of other cuts (besides the flip flops from Life is a Beach.) I stamped the backgrounds where my pics will go (they just looked too white to me). The paper is from an Amy Butler stack I love. Hope you like it!

Oh-Snap! Crabby Card

I love this little card. It's super simple, but I think the sentiment (Scrappy Moms Stamps) is so funny! The crab is from A Child's Year. I stamped the circles around the border to look like bubbles and of course, I had to cuttlebug the little guy. My husband already comented that this card should go to one of his friends who uses the expression often. And it's always good to have another "guy" card in the stash. I am submitting it to the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut for the "animal" cut theme this week.

Zig Zag Castle Card

I was really excited when I saw this idea in an old Usborne craft book. Of course, I had to cricut-ize the idea! I have been trying to come up with something to submit to the Made by Momo challenge, "Super Girly". I think this fits the bill! The castle is Cinderella's from Happily Ever After and the flowers are from Cindy Loo. Stickles, cuttlebugging, gel pens, and inking completed the look. It took a while, but I love the result.

Christmas in July Cuttlebug & Ribbon/Buttons Challenges

This was really fun though I did put a lot of time with it. It completes my December Daily album and that feels great! I used Storybook and Winter Woodland for the cuts and cuttlebugged the snowman and white tag and blue photo mat. I don't know how well the white tag embossing will show up in the pics, but I used glossy photo paper and it turned out really shiny and pretty in real life.

Tons of Thanks Card

I couldn't help but think of this sweet little truck off of New Arrival. I have been wanting to use that on a project somewhere! Also, I cuttlebugged the back of the truck with a metal-plate looking (I really wish they would print the names of the designs on the folders...I need to go through with a marker and write them, I guess). The stamps are my new favs from Scrappy Moms Stamps.

Christmas in July Challenge

Here is a 7 x 7 double layout I made using Storybook cuts mostly for a challenge at http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/search/label/Challenge%20Me%20Monday. I used gel pens for the doodling and a cute punch from Creative Memories for the heart. I think when it gets a bit closer to December I will attempt a video to share my Daily December albums (originally inspired from an Ali Edwards blog post a couple years ago) where I do a small layout and/or journaling for each day of the month. I am just now doing Christmas Eve and I will try to do Christmas day soon, too. I do most of the scrapbooking contemporaneously, but for some reason (I think I want them to be awesome) procrastinated the last two layouts. Enjoy!

Right as Rain Card

This is a simple card made from A Child's Year, card feature, and once again http://scrappymoms-stamps.blogspot.com/, Scrappy Moms Stamps. The paper is from an Amy Butler stack. Hope you like it!

Sweet Cupcake Cards

My fun mom came over today and we played with my new stamps from at http://scrappymoms-stamps.blogspot.com/ Scrappy Moms Stamps. The sentiments are very inspiring for us Cricuteers! We used the cupcake from the Home Decor Cartridge. We embossed with the cuttlebug, too!

Cards in a Basket Gift Set

This was such a fun little project that I found on the Cricut messageboards by Pink Cricut. You can click below to go to her video on her blog. What an easy way to make a sweet basket from a 12 x 12 piece of paper! I made this as a thank you gift for a lady in my church...just a few anytime cards she give away to friends and family. :)

Sassy Kitty Card

I made this fun little card for the challenge at http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2010/07/readers-choicegoing-places-cat-or-dog.html at Bitten by the Bug 2. I used a cat from Paisley and the phrase as well. It's really glittery in real life (the photos don't always do that aspect justice). I also used the cuttlebug for embossing and used the positive image for the inside of the card. Hope you like it!

Bug / Orange Challenge

I made this card using the bee and ladybug from Home Decor (never thought I would use those two) and a cricut from Stretch Your Imagination. The card and letters are from A Child's Year. The challenge is at http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/ . I love challenges because they inspire me to create things I never would otherwise. I have to say I had a particular friend in mind as I was making this. She has called me in the past and said, "I haven't talked to you in three whole days...and it's buggin' me." LOL. It's good to be loved. :)

Colonial / Princess Dress

My daughter loves to look

through my sewing patterns and found a pattern she really liked among them that had Colonial-style dresses. This one really looks "princess-y", though, when made of satin with gold lame trim. It took most of the day, but we are pleased with it. It is actually 2 pieces: an underdress, of which the skirt is visible, and a jacket-type top that fastens in the back.
