Paper Bird & Seaside Greetings

Made these cards with our new close to my heart stamps and some old scrapbook paper. The sentiments on these two cards were from Sweet n sassy stamps.

Joy's Creative Cards with new CTMH stamps

 

 

All of the cards in today's post are made by my daughter, Joy.  I love crafting with her!

I was very excited when my daughter (11) decided she loves to stamp!!  She used some new stamps (and some of my sister's new stamps- thanks Regina) and got creative.  Pinspired by pinterest, naturally.  I like her penstitching, too.  She thought her grandma Joan would appreciate the above card since she is an artist. :)  It was made with "Brushstrokes" and "Happy to be Friends".

 

We both love this adorable birthday cake made with the Brushstrokes stamp set from CTMH.  Stickles on the flames:

I love this idea she had to use an old, butterfly earring as an embellishment for this card.  The beautiful border is from Creative Memories Border Maker System.  The sentiment was from the CTMH "You Mean the World to Me" set.

We are both in love with this "Typed Note" stamp set.  So quick to make a variety of cute cards for tons of occasions:

This is my sister's new set, which she let us use before she even saw it. :)  Also, again "Brushstrokes".  I am so proud of my talented daughter!

Ctmh Happy to be Friends Occasions Cards

I love the new set of stamps from Close to my Heart called "Happy to be Friends Occasions". It's so versatile. There are multiple sentiments on there and you can mix and match the colors of wreath sprays and flowers into endless combinations. I also used the bow off of the Cricut Artiste cartridge (yellow) and a bit of cute zipper lace trim in Hollyhock, also by CTMH.

3D Baby Shoes Card

Used the Close To My Heart Artiste Cartridge to make a fun 3-dimensional card for a friend.

Anniversary "Dreams Come True" Card

Used the Disney Princess "Dreams Come True" cart to make this card for my husband for our 17th anniversary. I also used the border maker tool from Creative Memories (sooo sad they are no more) for the "you & me" punch. A Scrappy Moms stamp for the inside. :)

Used the owl off Campin' Critters for a masculine birthday card. Copper colored mirror paper, embossed as well as distress stickles.

Father's Day Card and Gift Box

Here are my Father's Day projects for my wonderful dad (aka Nature Boy). I used Campin' Critters for both the 3D tent (I'll put a gift card in there) and the card. My stamp is from Scrappy Moms Stamps. I'm entering this in the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut.









And here's the sweet card my daughter made for his birthday (it's always right near or on Father's Day).
The forest ranger is also from Campin' Critters. The chipmunks are a cute detail since his name is Dale. :)

Card for a Bride

So happy to be joining in on the Wedding/Anniversary challenge over at Bitten By The Bug 2 this week.

I chose to use the cartridge Life's A Party. Isn't this simple and elegant? Just like my sweet girlfriend to whom I will give it! So happy for her! God has brought an awesome man into her life and I celebrate with her.


Her color is navy and I'm so pleased with it on this card. The LAP cartridge has so many lovely cards as a feature. I added some bling on the corners that are punched out with an MS corner punch.

Pop Up Baseball Card

A birthday card for my precious son who is turning 11 tomorrow!


He lives and breathes baseball right now. I knew I wanted to make a pop-up card and wanted it to be simple, too. The stamps are from two Close to my Heart stamp sets called "Baseball" & "All Star".


I really wasn't in the mood to cricut all those letters and glue them on individually...so I used the awesome cricut markers! Sooo much easier. They have a stamped look, right? especially since I inked the edges.


I used an old sticker I had that was already 3-d. I adhered it to a piece of cardstock, and then cut it out so it wouldn't stick where it wasn't supposed to. I also used the method of sewing to stick my two pieces of cardstock (infuse and outside) together...no glue, so no lumps or bumps. Yay!

Mermaid Pool Party

Wow! Was this ever a fun party (well the preparation might have been more fun than the actual party...at least it was for me!). But the party wasn't for me, it was for my sweet daughter and her little mermaid friends.

I am thrilled to be able to link up to Decorate to Celebrate this week as the theme is "Anything Goes!"


The invitations were from Paper Doll Dress Up.  They have cute Peachy Keen faces and dance on their little springs! (Action Wobbles)  Their tails are cuttlebug embossed.

 Joy stamped Ariel on the envelopes and colored them in:

 Here is our door sign.

I drew on the face because I don't have PKS that large...I think it turned out ok.

The idea originated from our Yum! magazine with an article by One Charming Party and quickly spiraled out of control thanks to Pinterest!

Ideas we used from the magazine were:

This fun mermaid sign Joy painted and decorated (we used the cricut and contact paper to put the letters on while she painted the blue layer and peeled them off while the paint was still wet).  It was very cute that she asked her dad for a 2 x 4....

We got the seashell mold for the white chocolate from Michael's.

And the fishnet on the table:

The only reason my table is inside is because it was storming when the girls first got here, so we improvised with a game of Twister (it cleared up beautifully within the hour):

I remembered this adorable mermaid towel from the project section at Embroidery Library (great resource for creative sewing projects whether your embroider or not). I looked at cute ones on pinterest, too, and came up with my own adaptation:

                                               

I embroidered the names in a big, curly, girly font.  We stuck to our turquoise and lime green theme:

I crocheted this mermaid outfit for Joy to use with her Barbies a while ago, I meant to blog it, but it disappeared into her Kingdom and we pulled it out to use as decor for her party.  The pattern is here at Crafty Mama Sanchez blog.  It took some youtube viewing to master the crocodile stitch, but I love the texture.  It was made with lots of love at many baseball games and other mom-has-to-sit-and-wait events. :)

And last, because I made them the morning of the party---too much coffee, perhaps....these stitched dish clip labels made using chalk cloth!!!  I love them because I can use them for every pool party.  I cut the chalk cloth with Nestabilities on the Cuttlebug and stitched them to rectangles of felt, then hot glued them to clothespins:
