Thanksgiving Lamp

Isn't this fun? I just love these sweet pilgrims from A Child's Year & the sentiment is from Lyrical Letters.

I used chocolate brown vinyl and used the "Flip" feature on the Expression because I adhered it to the inside if the lamp shade. I also used transfer tape to make it easier to stick on.

It's kind of like a little surprise. See how it's barely visible with the light off?

It could be peeled off and discarded after the holiday, but I'm a bit tempted to buy another inexpensive shade (this was $15 from Walmart) and make one for Christmas. But then I'll have to store extra shades. Hmmm...,what do you think?

You Give Me Wings Dragonfly Card

I am thrilled to share with you my latest project (a joint effort by myself and 8 year old dd).  Joy got excited about the theme of the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut this week, being "Don't Bug Me".  We always love to get out our Peachy Keen Stamps, so we are pleased to enter the "Just Cards" challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog this week as well.  Here is what I came up with:

I knew I wanted a cheery card, fresh and bright.  The cute dragonfly is from Paisley.  The card base is from A Child's Year.  The cuttlebug-embossed vellum wings were Joy's idea.  I also used Design Studio to outline the body of the dragonfly with a dark green marker (really makes it pop!) and rubbed a little chalk on the cheeks for blush.  The heart is an old CM punch, punched from pink glitter cardstock.

This happy sun is from Pack Your Bags and I just love it.

This sentiment (took me a while to find one I liked among my stamps) is a Sweet N Sassy stamp and I think it's just perfect!

Some rhinestones for bling.  Penstitching for pop. An Action Wobble and the sun is just dizzy with delight!

Here is my dd's card.  I adore the whole thing, from her own unique saying to her doodles!

Have a happy day!

Glass Block 4th of July Decoration

I made a Patriotic decoration, using a glass block from Hobby Lobby, which I am linking to Decorate to Celebrate and Scrappy Moms Stamps and Fantabulous Cricut. I embossed the fire engine and sentiment with the cuttlebug. Carts used were A Child's Year and Stand and Salute. Lights on a white strand would have been prettier...or red lights...or blue....but, I used what I had! Hope you have a fab 4th!

Japanese Flower Girl Card & Gift Box

I embellished her flower and the sentiment tag with pearls. Her robe is embellished with birds and swirls, and the sentiment is embossed. I put the girl on Action Wobbles.

One tip I thought of today: I cut the tiniest notch in the card where I wanted to spread it out.

There are pretty Japanese lanterns not the hexagon box from Life's A Party.

Made this darling card and box set for the Let's Face it Friday - Designer's Choice!  and the challenge at My Creative Time to use green and yellow and an "older" cart (I used A Child's Year for the terrific card base that just lends itself perfectly to wrapping with Baker's Twine.) I got this sweet little girl svg file fromMy Scrap Chick. So happy with how she turned out. I love her sweet little face so much.

Would be great to put a little gift of tea in or a gift card to a Japanese Steak House! Yum!

"Simple Pleasures" Easter Layout

I designed this layout with the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 in mind. I am also entering it in a couple more challenges I just found: The Paper Cutz Challenge and the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!  Seems Spring is on everyone's brain!!  I used the eggs and chick off the A Child's Year cart and the sentiment from Country Life. I embossed and inked the eggs to "decorate" them. I can't wait to add photos from our Easter Season this year. Have a lovely day!

I used ACY for the card base and leftover butterflies from another project from Once Upon a Princess and lots of little stick-on rhinestones. The stamp says, "Love puts joy in the heart".

Sweet Blessings LO

This layout was created with the Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge in mind to use a birdhouse or birdcage. My birdhouse is from Cindy Loo along with the sentiment "Blessings". "Sweet" is off Create a Critter and the bird is Serenade. A Child's Year is the beautifully shaped mat. Can't wait for the perfect pic to fill this layout! Blessings to you, today, my friends!

60th Anniversary Card and Gift

I will be away for the weekend, but wanted to show you how I used the leftover vinyl from the Etched Picture Frame on the gift wrap.  I just taped on the card and put the vinyl on above and below.  (The scrolls are from Storybook and they aren't on the frame, but the lettering and heart from Plantin Schoolbook is.)  The best gift-wrapping tip I ever heard is just to get a big roll of this brown kraft paper from the Office Supply Store and use it for everything.  It is just good all-purpose paper that is a nice weight and can then be decorated for any occasion and best of all, you only have to store one roll of wrapping paper!

I figured I would post the card here as well.  The cuts on the card are all from A Child's Year (a favorite, for sure).  I used design studio to hide the violin cutout on the image I used for a liner and the vellum... The paper is Amy Butler and it just reminds me of my grandma.  The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps (the button is on my sidebar).  Thanks for letting me share.  Have a blessed weekend!

Stylin' Mama Card

Here is a very simple card with a base from A Child's Year (I feel like I use that one all the time) and this sweet, adorable mama from New Arrival.  I gave it to a girlfriend of mine who is just that cute!!

Fabulous Sophistication

I love the Summer in Paris cartridge. The shoe was perfect with the sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps. I used my glue stamp pad to use glitter on the flourishes (Autumn Leaves) in the background. The great shaped card is off of A Child's Year. Hope you have a fabulous day!

Oh-Snap! Crabby Card

I love this little card. It's super simple, but I think the sentiment (Scrappy Moms Stamps) is so funny! The crab is from A Child's Year. I stamped the circles around the border to look like bubbles and of course, I had to cuttlebug the little guy. My husband already comented that this card should go to one of his friends who uses the expression often. And it's always good to have another "guy" card in the stash. I am submitting it to the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut for the "animal" cut theme this week.

Right as Rain Card

This is a simple card made from A Child's Year, card feature, and once again http://scrappymoms-stamps.blogspot.com/, Scrappy Moms Stamps. The paper is from an Amy Butler stack. Hope you like it!

Bug / Orange Challenge

I made this card using the bee and ladybug from Home Decor (never thought I would use those two) and a cricut from Stretch Your Imagination. The card and letters are from A Child's Year. The challenge is at http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/ . I love challenges because they inspire me to create things I never would otherwise. I have to say I had a particular friend in mind as I was making this. She has called me in the past and said, "I haven't talked to you in three whole days...and it's buggin' me." LOL. It's good to be loved. :)

Scrapbook Pages 2 for Logan

These are a few more of the pages I did for Logan's book. I loved the pic of him raising his hands in victory. The font is my much loved Pooh font. The layout of the Sante Fe River comes from A Child's Year, both the font and images, except the sun, which is from Accent Essentials and it's stickled (I had to sneak a little glitter in!). The corner flourishes out of the dark purple are from Story book. The "Coffey Kids" are out of another great Font, Lyrical Letters.

Scrapbook Pages 1 for Logan

The night after we celebrated my daughter's Kindergarten graduation, my stepson graduated from High School! His mother and I both scrapbook separately some pages from the years (we did this for his older brother and sister as well) and then put them in one album for him. Here are a few. I love, love all the cuts on A Child's Year. I have a few more pages to post soon. The great waves are from Life's A Beach. And of course, I used my cuttlebug, too!
