Baseball Gear Storage Crate

There is a sports-themed contest from My Pink Stamper over at Bitten by the Bug 2. I was trying to think of something practical I could make for my baseball-fanatic-son. Recently, I was also trying to think of a good way to recycle these things:

You know, the things so-yummy-my-family-can't-stop-eating-them clementines come in. I removed the labels, netting, and extra staples (the ones not holding the crate together).

And covered the sides with cardstock and made this:

I used the Sports Mania cartridge for the images, Peachy Keen stamps for the faces (I like how worried the glove is that the mean baseball is comin' at him!), and Pooh Font (Marker) for the lettering.

The practical use for this will be to have something attractive to stow Cade's miscellaneous belts, (clean) socks, other-gear-we-won't mention ;) on top of my washing machine so he knows where they are as he's getting ready for practice or a game.

These little crates could be used for so many fun storage ideas.

Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Joy Layout

I made this layout for the challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2. We had to use the "Joy" off of Winter Woodland. I just had to join in because my daughter's name is Joy, too!

I cut a piece of lace paper I'd purchased in half:

The "joy" is from Winter Woodland, of course.

Baby Jesus and the star border are from Winter Frolic. His face is a Peachy Keen stamp.

I used a shiny metallic paper for the silver and yellow/gold stars.

Boy-Themed Football Pages

Here is a simple layout I did of some flag football pics of my son:

The cart is Boys will be Boys. I cuttlebugged the shimmery brown paper and now it really makes the football leather pop!

I'm entering the layout in the Boy/Masculine Challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2.

I love these layered titles!

Life is our Classroom Layout

I made this whimsical layout for the My Creative Classroom challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2. You needed to use the word "classroom" in your project. I was inspired to use the word "classroom" because we homeschool, and even though we definitely have "school time" each day, we all know that we are all constantly learning new things with each new experience.

I used Design Studio to cut out the title with Lyrical Letters--one of my favorite font cartridges. So many great fonts on that cart!

The supplies (and part of the LO idea) were from a kit from My Personal Scrapper. Love the colors and patterns.

This big scalloped circle was something new I tried with Design Studio. I made the scalloped circle huge and slid it way over on the mat (on the computer screen) and cut it out.

I used the negative image so I still have this great design element for another layout out of that great lettered pattern:

I added rhinestones and awesome dimensional flower stickers.

The great thing about machine stitching is that it doesn't have to be perfect and it still looks good.

Baseball Layouts

Here is my newest baseball layout I made for the Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge this week. I don't have all my pictures printed yet so I am waiting to add those. It feels so great to complete a premade layout, though, just waiting for me. The cuts are from Life's A Party:

I thought I'd take the chance to show you a few other simple baseball layouts I've done in the past as inspiration for any other baseball moms out there (cuts from Sports Mania):

Ice Cream Cone Mini Album

I made this yummy mini album fir the challenge at BBTB2. I used the ice cream cone from Stretch Your Imagination.
First, I used the blackout feature and cut out the ice cream cone at 8". I don't have cereal boxes, so I used boxes from granola bars.

The boxes are rather small, so I used the "center point" feature to help me squeeze that shape on the box diagonally. You just put the blade in the center of where you want your image. This is also
how I did the tag. I stamped the sentiment on there and then used this feature to cut it out:

I cut out 6 cones from the boxes:

Then I cut out 6 cones from cardstock, then 6 more using the flip feature for the backs of the pages:

I embossed the cone with the cuttlebug:

Used some flowers from my stash and stickles on the cherry:

I also used Puffy Paint to embellish the tag:

I love that stamp from Scrappy Moms Stamps!

I think this will be a great excuse to host an ice cream social for the kids. I can see cutting their little faces into circles to use on each page...we better make invitations!

"Simple Pleasures" Easter Layout

I designed this layout with the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 in mind. I am also entering it in a couple more challenges I just found: The Paper Cutz Challenge and the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!  Seems Spring is on everyone's brain!!  I used the eggs and chick off the A Child's Year cart and the sentiment from Country Life. I embossed and inked the eggs to "decorate" them. I can't wait to add photos from our Easter Season this year. Have a lovely day!

Sweet Blessings LO

This layout was created with the Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge in mind to use a birdhouse or birdcage. My birdhouse is from Cindy Loo along with the sentiment "Blessings". "Sweet" is off Create a Critter and the bird is Serenade. A Child's Year is the beautifully shaped mat. Can't wait for the perfect pic to fill this layout! Blessings to you, today, my friends!
