Knitted Cabled Pumpkins

I saw these knitted, cabled pumpkins on Pinterest and I absolutely had to make them. Do you ever get obsessed with the idea of creating a project or am I the only crazy one? :-)


Well, it turns out that this is a great kit from Mary Maxim with everything you need to make this project, except for the polyfil (or stuffing). I thought the kit was very reasonably priced especially since you make two pumpkins with it! I love all of the details on this project. I have always liked this burnt orange color, and the jute and burlap ribbon for the leaves are very sweet without being too country for me. :) Happy Fall!

Knit Elephant Lovie

 This was such a fun project.  I worked on this guy over a couple of vacations while traveling or during downtime.  This is an awesome free pattern I found HERE.  I used Caron Simply Soft yarn for the pink and gray and some white cotton that I had in my stash.  I can't wait for my new grandbaby to snuggle up with this sweet friend.

Cabled Fingerless Gloves and Hat

I made this fun set with free patterns found on Ravelry.

Baby Harp Seal

From the Winter 2012 issue of Creative Knitting:


My first completed knit toy (I have 3 more almost done). I also just ordered a new book on new toys that looks like lots of fun...(thanks for enabling me Liz, hehe😉).


I guess this is my latest obsession.

My First Attempts at Knitting

My first washcloth I knit. I figured dishcloths are a good first project since it's no biggie if they are not as beautiful as I hoped. It is simply several rows of the garter stitch (where you knit every row).


Next, I really wanted to learn the stockinette stitch (LOVE YouTube!!). I think this is funny how my rows kept growing until the last several when I figured out how to correct that. ;)
